Porter Consulting Engineers were appointed by DM Civil as part of their design and construct contract to replace 14km of existing water main in Nilgen, within the Shire of Gingin. The scope included the replacement of the bore feeder main along with the reticulation throughout the estate.
Working in a brownfields estate whilst maintaining continual water services were key design constraints.
Consideration to the staging of the works and connection arrangements were undertaken to mitigate main downtime and to simplify the asset handover process. Stage 1 construction commenced in early March 2018 and was completed in May 2018.
