Porter Consulting Engineers is lead engineer and responsible for the management of civil components plus the coordination of the whole consultant team including power, communication, environmental, hydraulic and geotechnical.

Shane Highman is the project director and is responsible for all aspects of the coordination of design, approvals, tender and construction administration.  Jamie King is responsible for superintendence and site surveillance checks for the project.

The Ravenswood Green project has a multiple staged approach.  Our team has successfully undertaken coordination of services and earthworks across future stages. Working within the Shire of Murray and establishment of key working relationships with Shire representatives is paramount.

Key Challenges

  • Being on the outer fringe of Ravenswood, flood mitigation and stormwater control was a main constraint. Porters were able to value add to the project by substituting twin DN900 concrete pipes with a living stream.
  • This reduced the lot yield by 7 however saved the import of 40,000m3 of fill and 600m of twin DN900 pipe. There were also additional environmental benefits with the living stream including the creation of native habitat with nutrient stripping bonuses.

The project commenced with client consultation in mid-2014 and works for Stage 5B reaching practical completion in August 2021.  The construction cost for the estate is $14M.
