Porter Consulting Engineers is pleased to be involved in the Cecil Avenue redevelopment, with the City of Canning’s first smart street, Cecil Avenue being part of their new City Centre. This is an exciting project and with the commencement of works on site, the project team’s hard work and effort is now coming to fruition.
Porter Consulting Engineers has worked with the City, Main Roads WA and the Public Transport Authority to deliver a road network to meet additional transport demand generated by expanding development in the area. We have prepared concept design through to detailed design for the upgrading of Cecil Avenue from single carriageway to a median-divided carriageway with bus lanes and future light rail.
Cecil Avenue will see the installation of smart poles equipped with technology to support traffic & environmental monitoring, CCTV, WiFi, electric vehicles and reduced cost lighting. Take a look at the Channel Nine News Perth video (courtesy of City of Canning) below to find out more:
